This application note indicates the differences between MX25L1606E & MX25L8006E and MX25L1605D & MX25L8005.
The information provided is based on the data available at the time. The MX25L1606E & MX25L8006E datasheet may override this application note is there is a difference description for the same in the datasheet.
Macronix is introducing the “E” revision, the next generation of 8Mb/16Mb serial flash
products on our existing 0.11um technology.
In Single I/O mode, the MX25L8006E and MX25L1606E are identical in forms and
functions with the MX25L8005 and MX25L1605D. The MX25L8006E and MX25L1606E
are also capable of Single Input / Dual Output mode. However, the MX25L1606E no
longer supports Dual Input / Dual Output and Continuously Program (CP) Mode. Please
see table on page 2 for additional feature comparisons.
MX25L8005 and/or MX25L1605D need to migrate to the MX25L8006E and/or
MX25L1606E. New design should only adopt the new products. Migrating to these
new products will enable Macronix to provide continuous support to our customers.
Yeah I agree with you that the MX25L8006E and MX25L1606E are also capable of Single Input / DualOutput mode.
